At the beginning of the year, we launched our first online CME in the history of medicine, entitled Professionalism in Historical Context. We are now proud to announce our second CME program entitled History of Global Health. In this course, we explore global health crises such as Ebola, Zika, malaria, HIV/AIDs, tuberculosis and more. While global health may seem like a 21st century phenomenon, this CME shows how current institutions and practices of global health are the products of a long history, from 18th century colonial, imperial, and tropical medicine through 20th century international health institutions. This CME allows practicing physicians to take these current and ever-evolving health concerns and put them into historical context.
