We welcome students from all over the world to our program.

Ours is a graduate program, so you must have received an undergraduate degree, often referred to as a bachelor’s degree, in order to enroll.  However, we recognize that educational systems differ, with different pathways to degrees so please contact us if you have any questions about your eligibility: ihmonline@jhmi.edu.  Most applicants from countries where English is not the official language must submit scores of an English language proficiency test – either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) are accepted.  Usually, students admitted to our program have minimum scores as follows:

TOEFL

 Minimum Scores

  • Computer: 250
  • Paper: 600
  • Online: 100
In the course registration form,  use Institution Code 5316 (JHU  PhD MEDICINE)
IELTS Minimum Score of 7 In the course registration form,  provide your IELTS TRF number  and score
TOEFL/IELTS Exceptions

Admissions will waive this requirement for applicants only if:

  • an applicant has completed a four-year degree from an accredited US institution.
  • an applicant is from a country listed on this quick reference list.
  • please email us at ihmonline@jhmi.edu with any questions.

The fees for international students are the same as for students residing in the US. Our online payment system accepts payments from all major credit cards and by e-check.
