Three History of Medicine Scholarly Concentration students enjoyed a successful day showcasing their exciting research at the recent 2018 Johns Hopkins Medical Student Research Symposium.
Sophia Diaz (above) made a concurrent oral presentation of her project, “Over the Counter DNA: The Rise of Genomic Alternative Medicine Since the Human Genome Project”.
Chrstine E. Gummerson (above) also gave a concurrent oral presentation of her work, “Protecting Health Through Pollution Control: Medicine, Politics, and London’s Great Smog of 1952”.
Tiffany Brocke’s poster, “Race and Reputation: The Influence of the Johns Hopkins Hospital on Abortion Access in Baltimore, 1945-1973” was selected for an Excellence in Medical Student Research award.
