Professor Nathaniel Comfort will present at a briefing for Congressional staff and interns, “The Societal Implications of Astrobiology: Research from the Library of Congress,” on Friday, October 14. Dr. Comfort is wrapping up his appointment as the Baruch S. Blumberg NASA/Library of Congress Chair in Astrobiology at The John W. Kluge Center. He will join former chair David Grinspoon to discuss “how recent developments, such as the rise of genomics and the discovery of deep-sea hydrothermal vents, have transformed scientists’ notions of life’s beginnings — and what the implications might be for finding life in other parts of the universe.” Additional information may be found here.
