The faculty in the Department teach on two campuses (East Baltimore and Homewood), online, and in three schools in a range of contexts:

Graduate Program

The Program in the History of Science, Medicine, and Technology is a joint graduate program sponsored by the Department of the History of Medicine in the School of Medicine, and the Department of the History of Science and Technology in the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences.

Online Program

The Department offer an online Masters and Certificate in the History of Medicine, as well as individual courses for credit. Register here.

Cast-M

CAST-M is a new pathway to encourage doctoral student diversity in the fields of science studies, medical humanities, history of science and technology, and history of medicine.

School of Medicine

The Department offers a Scholarly Concentration; selectives; independent studies; a range of additional courses and a dual degree program.

School of Public Health

The Department teaches courses in the School of Public Health and offers joint graduate degree programs with the Bloomberg School.

Homewood Undergraduate Courses

Our faculty teach a range of undergraduate courses at Homewood, including a two-semester survey and seminars such as the History of Chinese medicine.

Over the years, our graduate students have delivered a number of extremely successful courses under the Dean’s Teaching Fellowship program.
